THE ENDOWMENT FUND
As of the date of the Grand Arch Council, the Endowment Fund of Phi Kappa
Psi had assets of over $17 million, making it the largest men’s
fraternity foundation in the nation! This success is attributable to the
exciting growth of our Chapter Scholarship Funds, significant chapter
capital campaign activity and unprecedented private gifts.
The Endowment Fund of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, organized in 1914,
was formed "to aid, encourage, promote and contribute to the education
and scholastic attainments" of Phi Psis and other students across
the nation. Thirteen Trustees exercise stewardship over the Fund. The
Endowment Fund provides funds for a variety of programs and services which
directly affect undergraduates and their chapters. The primary responsibilities
of the Endowment Fund are:
- The support of academic achievement among college students through
recognition of academic excellence, scholarships and support for the
proper environment for academic success within chapters.
- The promotion of leadership, citizenship and service for personal
growth and development and for the continued strength of Phi Psi, our
host institutions and communities and the larger society in general.
- The education of undergraduates in the traditions of the Phi Kappa
Psi Fraternity, whose ideals and principles can provide a guiding force
for life.
- The support of clean, safe and healthy chapter housing, through grants
for educational space and technology and the promotion of living-learning
environments conducive to academic excellence.
The Endowment Fund of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity provides over $250,000
a year in national and chapter scholarships to deserving graduate and
undergraduate students; these include numerous scholarships ranging from
$1,000-4,000 in grants.
CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
Chapter Scholarship Funds (CSF) are separate, directed funds within the
Endowment Fund, the use of which benefits a particular chapter.
Each year, the Trustees of the Endowment Fund typically make five percent
(5%) of each CSF available for scholarships and grants to the members
of those chapters that have CSFs established.
PRESIDENTS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
This tremendous experience will not only better prepare you for the challenge
of leading a chapter and will improve your skills as a leader and motivator,
but it will also provide you the opportunity to meet with other leaders.
This kind of leadership experience is rare among college fraternities.
The Academy is funded through a grant from the Endowment Fund. Thus, all
travel and enrollment costs are paid!
FRATERNITY EDUCATORS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
The purpose of FELA is to provide undergraduate chapter fraternity officers
with an education training experience that will help them become more
competent in their role as fraternity educators and help them develop
training materials and instructional skills with which they will be able
to assist other members of their chapter. Again, the Academy is funded
through a grant from the Endowment, so all travel and enrollment costs
are paid!
